It has been quite a while since my last post but I do have my excuses, I promise! First things first, I started my online college a few weeks ago and I have been taking the time to get adjusted to a new schedule. So far I really am enjoying it, and finishing school will be extremely easy!
We also had our internet speeds upgraded from a measly 2.5Mb/s to 24Mb/s with a 1Mb/s upload rate; this means I can now upload huge photos without spending all day waiting for a small batch of 10 photos to upload. 1Mb/s is still generally slow but it’s more than double of the previous speeds. I definitely won’t have any complaints there!
Now that my workflow can change I will focus more on taking stock photos over the upcoming summer. I will be traveling a lot next month, but do expect to see more photos online before then. I also plan to figure out what I want to do with my YouTube channel, but I’m in no big hurry yet; these other things need to be sorted first. Anyways, I’ll keep this short, and wanted to let anyone who reads this know that I still am working on stock photography.
The past week has been quite a busy and fulfilling one. Tonight I finished updating my FAFSA so I can continue my college education while living here in Crete, Greece. I’m enrolling at the University of Phoenix for Information Technology with a focus in Networking. Jobs in that field are pretty stable and very promising! With Stock Photography on the side I’ll be able to support myself and have extra money while doing two things I love. A big goal for my right now is to finish school before my two years here in Crete are up, so that way when my family and I move back to the states I’ll have the college requirements for a good job, hopefully with the Federal Government. So far my dad has been extremely helpful with explaining things and helping me set up appropriate goals so that way I can make it a reality.
As for my YouTube channel, I’m still unsure of what I’d like to do with it. Like I said previously, I’m going to continue to brainstorm and gather ideas; my main goal is to have it figured out within a month or two. It’s not too much of a priority with everything else going on. Plus I’d rather spend a long time pondering great ideas and making them happen than just pump out a lame video or two that won’t be well received. The good thing is at least I have the channel set up and organized, so all I have to do is start uploading videos; that’s what happens when you have spare time and a slight case of OCD.
Another big event coming up quickly here in the near future is a trip to Milan, Venice, and southern Bavaria with my family and grandparents. That’ll be quite exciting! As the date gets nearer I’ll be sure to talk more about it and provide solid travel plans for those of you interested. That trip isn’t the only exciting thing though; my grandparents get to go with us on a trip of their dreams, and they’ll be staying with us for a month here in Crete. It’ll be quite a wonderful time, especially with how much I miss them. I’m so used to living close to most of my family and closest friends; just about everyone was within a short 30 minute drive, so you can only imagine what 6,000 miles is like.
